Performance recording
At Charollais Australia stock selection is based both on visual and Lambplan objective measurement. We aim to produce stock with excellent carcass muscling whilst maintaining easy lambing. We are prepared to cull any sheep with undesirable characteristics prior to performance recording.  Charollais Australia is a member of Sheep Genetics Australia and we utilize the services of Stefan Stryker.

Progeny Testing
We currently progeny test our leading rams by mating each ram to 40 crossbred ewes and record ease of lambing, lamb growth rates and carcass quality.  Data to date confirm that Charollais are very easy lambing with low lamb mortality.

Health
Charollais Australia is MN 1 under the National Johne's Program.  All stock are Guadiar vaccinated and Brucella ovis Accredited (Accred No. 3608)
The property and all sheep are free of foot rot, all stock are treated annually for lice and other external parasites. A routine 6:1 vaccination program is adhered to.

Genetic Improvement
Charollais Australia utilize the embryo transfer services of Farmgene (Australia) Pty Ltd to multiply the best genetics within the flock.
